Classification

There are many kinds of steel bars, which are usually classified according to chemical composition, production process, rolling shape, supply form, diameter and use in the structure:

1. By diameter Steel wire (diameter 3~5mm), fine reinforcement (diameter 6~10mm), thick reinforcement (diameter greater than 22mm)

2. By mechanical property Grade I reinforcement (300/420); Grade II reinforcement (335/455); Grade III reinforcement (400/540) and Grade IV reinforcement (500/630)

3. By production process Hot rolled, cold rolled and cold drawn steel bars, as well as heat treated steel bars made of Grade IV steel bars after heat treatment, have higher strength than the former.

4. According to the role in the structure Compression reinforcement, tensile reinforcement, erection reinforcement, distribution reinforcement, stirrup, etc

The reinforcement configured in reinforced concrete structures can be divided into the following categories according to their functions:

1. Stressed reinforcement - reinforcement bearing tensile and compressive stresses.

2. Stirrup - bear a part of diagonal tensile stress and fix the position of load-bearing reinforcement, which is mostly used in beams and columns.

3. Erection reinforcement -used to fix the position of steel hoop in the beam and form the reinforcement skeleton in the beam.

4. Distribution reinforcement- used in roof slab and floor slab, vertically arranged with the load-bearing reinforcement of the slab, to evenly transmit the weight to the load-bearing reinforcement, fix the position of the load-bearing reinforcement, and resist the temperature deformation caused by thermal expansion and cold contraction.

5. Others - structural reinforcement configured due to structural requirements of components or construction and installation needs. Such as waist reinforcement, embedded anchor reinforcement,
prestressed reinforcement, ring, etc.

 

 

Divided by rolling shape :

1. Smooth steel bars: Grade I steel bars (Q300 steel bars) are rolled into smooth round sections, supplied in the form of coils, with a diameter of no more than 10mm and a length of 6m~12m.

2. Ribbed reinforcement: there are three types of spiral, herringbone and crescent. Generally, Grade II and III reinforcement are rolled into herringbone, and Grade IV reinforcement is rolled into spiral and crescent.

3. Steel wire (low carbon steel wire and carbon steel wire) and steel strand.

4. Cold rolled and twisted steel bars: cold rolled and cold twisted. Diameter size: Steel wire (diameter 3~5mm), fine steel bar (diameter 6~10mm), thick steel bar (diameter greater than 22mm). Structural function: Compression reinforcement, tensile reinforcement, erection reinforcement, distribution reinforcement, stirrup, etc
